Auto Detailing Clay Bars

Auto Detailing Clay Bars can be an important tool for professionals in the auto detailing industry as well as car enthusiasts who want to keep the exterior of their vehicles in the best condition possible. Automotive clear coats can be very susceptible to environmental elements. Auto Detailing clay is capable of removing these pollutants before they become embedded in a cars clear coat. Detailer’s clay can be used once the car has been washed to cleanse the paint before it is buffed and waxed. Clay can be used to remove paint over-spray, industrial & environmental pollutant fall-out, rail dust, fresh bird dropping stains, and light tree sap.

The Japanese were the first to use clay in the auto-body industry as part of the surface-repair process. It was brought to the US market in 1993 and slowly caught on at first with auto detailers. Now, many detailers use clay on every vehicle that they service.

Detailing clay shears off any foreign material above the level surface of a cars paint. Any debris that sticks out past the flat surface of the paint is captured by the clay bar and will not scratch the cars paint as long as the clay bar is properly lubricated. The detailing clay bar will grab even the smallest debris and hold onto it as it is slid across the paint. While gliding across the cars paint, the clay bar removes the pollutants on the paint before they have a chance to be embedded into the cars clear coat.

The detailing clay bar is most effective when it is applied with a clay lubricant to help it glide or hydroplane across the paint. The detail clay lubricant is what allows the clay to slide over the paint without scratching it with the debris that it is picking up.

Once the vehicle is clayed, the smooth, contaminant-free surface that the clay creates allows for better wax or sealant application. Detail King's detailing clay will not remove protection if the car had been waxed prior to the claying of the paint, so there is no need to re-apply wax after claying.

Detail King has 3 different types of detailing clay bars:

1) “Extra Light Cut” Detailers Clay Wonder Bar - use regularly for hand washes since it is less aggressive and is safe to use on a regular basis each time a certain car is washed. This will keep the cars paint smooth and slick.

2) “Medium Duty” Detailers Clay Wonder Bar - use to prep the paint during the wash-up prior to detailing. Great for removing light to medium paint over-spray. It will remove environmental fallout to prepare the vehicle buffing and waxing.

3) “Heavy Cut” Detailers Clay Wonder Bar - use for heavy paint over-spray removal and larger amounts of paint over-spray especially if the over-spray has been on the car for a long period of time.

Detail King's Clay Lubricant:

“Wonder Lube” Clay Lubricant - used in conjunction with any of our detailing clay bars to assist in clay application and cleanse the vehicle's paint to remove pollutant fallout and paint over-spray. Wonder Lube will not remove automotive paint protection (wax & sealants) like other clay lubricants may, and it contains no alcohol. Pleasant new Juicy Fruit scent.
