An ozone air cleaner is very effective when used in the clean up process following fires to get rid of the smoke odors, or in flood restoration to kill mold and mildew. Ozone is often used by cleanup crews following a fire to help recover items ruined by smoke damage. Many of the unfortunate hurricane flood victims in the Gulf Coast states have found our air purifiers to be the machine of choice for helping reduce their mold and mildew problems and re-creating a safe air environment within their homes.

What is Ozone?

Ozone is a trace constituent of the atmosphere which is naturally produced by the ultraviolet rays from the sun. Ozone is an unstable blue gas with an odor that is easy to recognize, and in low levels makes the air smell fresh and its color makes the sky blue. When 03 comes in contact with odor producing particles and bacteria, the oxidation process occurs. When ozone comes in contact with mold and mildew, pollen, odors, or other airborne bacteria, one of those atoms combines with the pollutants rendering them inactive by oxidation, leaving behind pure clean oxygen, 02.

Mildew, pet odors, urine, vomit and smoke odors are no match for this unit. Does the job right the first time. Offering ozone treatments can be an excellent marketing niche for the professional detailing business. The housing is made completely from stainless steel. Output: 0 to 2000 mgph. It can be operated at full strength to provide a high ozone shock treatment to an area, or can be adjusted to run continuously at lower levels for smoke and odor removal. You can adjust the output to a lower level if this unit was being used in a building while other rooms of that building were being occupied. The difference between this unit and the FM1 is this one has the adjustable output, it has the same max output of 2,000 MPGH. The only difference between this model and the Pro4 below is this unit like the FM1 has no timer. None of our ozone generators require expensive filters. A small fan filter is supplied with every unit and simply needs to be washed occasionally. The ozone plates located inside the ozone generator should be removed and cleaned with soap and water every 3 months, or more often, if there is a noticeable drop in ozone output. They must be thoroughly dry before they are reinstalled. The plates need to be replaced about every two years, or when ever the output no longer recovers to the original level, after they are cleaned. The replacement cost of these plates is only $19.95 a pair. Since these ozone generators operate on very high voltage, they must always be unplugged before the cover is removed, to avoid electrical shock. Avoid using these machines in areas with high humidity, as it and can shorten the life of the transformer and the electronics.

It can be run on a continuous basis, at its lowest settings, if used in a large area with good circulation. It also has a built in timer that allows the unit to run for a selected amount of time, before it shuts off. Ozone Generator PRO-8

The PRO-8 ozone generator is designed for use in commercial applications or wherever high ozone output is needed to reduce odors, mold, mildew, and bacteria. It is our most powerful machine with an ozone output of up to 8000 mgph. (8 Grams per hr.) The PRO-8's high output gets the job done quickly. It is an excellent choice for mold remediation contractors and auto detailers. It has a built in hour meter for use by equipment rental retailers.

It can deodorize an automobile in a little as 15 to 20 minutes. Because it is 4 times as powerful as our FM1 & Pro-4.

When mold and mildew gets really severe in a building, the only recourse is to have the mold-laden material removed and hauled away. Our machines can be a huge help, prior to, during and after the reconstruction. They can be used in the building to reduce airborne mold spores as well as the mold attached to the surface of material. These spores can enter the lungs and sinuses creating major health problems.

Running this machine over night, prior to the remediation, allows residents to temporarily occupy the building to work or remove furniture and personal belongings while the airborne mold is at reduced levels. Once all of the debrie is removed, it can help make the air safer for workers to occupy the building, and as the last step in the clean up process to help insure the building passes final air quality inspection.

Ozone is a colorless gas with a distinct pungent odor. It is a molecule made up of 3 atoms of oxygen. Interestingly, ozone occurs quite readily in nature, in the upper atmosphere protecting us from harmful UV rays, at the beach, in the forest, or near waterfalls. In fact, the odor of fresh spring rain following a thunderstorm comes from nature's creation of ozone. Since ozone is the second most powerful disinfectant, 3000 times that of chlorine; it can easily destroy bacteria, viruses, mold, mildew, and odors.

For continuous operation, turn the timer knob counter clockwise to the Hold position. For timed operation, turn the dial clockwise to select up to 12 hours of run time. Turn on the power with the large brown knob and adjust the output from 500 to 8000 milligrams per hour. At the end of the elapsed time, the ozone will shut off but the fan will remain running to help the ozone dissipate and turn back into oxygen. The fan will stop when the power is turned off. If stubborn odors persist, repeat the process.

Since ozone is the second most powerful sterilant in existence, it can easily destroy bacteria, viruses, mold, mildew, and odors.

Due to its high output, do not use the PRO-8 in areas occupied by people or animals.

The PRO-8 is also an ideal choice for treating mildew in damp crawl spaces.

Two input filters are supplied with every unit. The ceramic plates inside the ozone generator should be cleaned with soap and water whenever there is a noticeable drop in ozone output. The housing is made completely from stainless steel for maximum durability.
