What are Jade Ceramic Coatings?
Jade Ceramic Coatings are nano-crystalline ceramic coatings that protect a variety of automobile surfaces from weather, chemicals, and UV rays from the sun. Once cured, they form a durable, protective layer over the paint and other components. These coatings offer superior defense against environmental contaminants, UV rays, and dirt, making it an essential choice for those who want to keep their vehicles looking pristine year-round.
Why Choose Ceramic Coatings?
- Long-Lasting Protection: Ceramic coatings create a semi-permanent barrier on your vehicle’s paint, lasting several years with proper maintenance. Unlike traditional wax or sealants, they won’t wash off or degrade quickly.
- Enhanced Gloss and Shine: A ceramic-coated vehicle boasts a deep, mirror-like shine that is sure to turn heads. The hydrophobic properties of ceramic coatings cause water, dust, and grime to slide off, keeping your vehicle cleaner for longer.
- UV & Chemical Resistance: Exposure to harmful UV rays can lead to paint fading and oxidation over time. Ceramic coatings block these damaging rays, preserving your vehicle’s color and finish. They also resist chemical stains caused by acidic contaminants like bird droppings and tree sap.
- Easy Maintenance: Thanks to the hydrophobic properties, a ceramic-coated vehicle repels water and dirt, making it easier to clean and maintain. Routine washing becomes more efficient, reducing the frequency of deep cleaning or polishing.
- Protection from Minor Scratches: While ceramic coatings won’t make your vehicle scratch-proof, they do add an extra layer of protection against light scratches, swirl marks, and marring and are much more scratch resistant than clear coat.
Graphene Oxide Ceramic Coatings
Graphene oxide ceramic coatings represent the next evolution in surface protection technology for vehicles. Combining the toughness of graphene with the hydrophobic and glossy benefits of ceramic coatings, they provide a higher level of protection, shine, and longevity compared to traditional coatings, making them a preferred choice for detailers and car enthusiasts looking for premium vehicle protection.
Key Features
- Enhanced Durability
- Superior Hydrophobicity
- Improved Heat Dissipation
- Chemical Resistance
- Anti-Static and Anti-Corrosion
- Gloss and Visual Enhancement
Benefits
- Greater scratch resistance: Graphene strengthens the coating, making it more resistant to micro-scratches.
- Reduced water spotting: Its heat-dissipating properties reduce the formation of water spots compared to traditional coatings.
- Longer-lasting protection: The combination of ceramic and graphene offers a longer-lasting, durable protective layer.
Silicon Dioxide (SiO2) Ceramic Coatings
Silicon dioxide ceramic coatings are one of the best options for protecting a vehicle’s paint from environmental damage while enhancing its appearance. With strong hydrophobic properties, excellent durability, and resistance to contaminants and chemicals, SiO2 ceramic coatings provide long-term protection and ease of maintenance, making them a popular choice for both professional detailers and car enthusiasts.

Traditional Coatings vs. Spray Coatings
Traditional ceramic coatings are applied with a microfiber applicator and are best for those looking for long-term, professional-grade protection and are willing to invest the time and effort (or hire a professional) for proper application and maintenance. They provide superior durability, protection, and gloss but come at a higher cost and with slightly more complexity.
Spray ceramic coatings are ideal for users looking for quick and easy protection, especially for DIY enthusiasts. They offer moderate protection, scratch resistance and gloss enhancement but require more frequent reapplication to maintain protection on a vehicle.
Key Differences
- Application Method - Traditional Coatings are dispensed onto an applicator and spread evenly over the surface in small sections, allowed to flash and then leveled out with a microfiber towel. Spray Coatings are applied by spraying the coating directly on the surface, then wiped off with a microfiber cloth, which is quicker and simpler than traditional coatings.
- Durability - Traditional Coatings will have better durability and last longer than Spray Coatings due to the level of active ingredient in the coatings, and also because a thicker layer of product is applied when done with an applicator.
- Level of Protection - Traditional Coatings provide a higher level of protection especially when it comes to scratch resistance because when there is a thicker layer of protection, a scratch will have to be deeper to reach the actual clearcoat beneath.
- Ease of Use - Spray Coatings are much easier and quicker to apply compared to Traditional Coatings. There is not as much skill required to apply Spray Coatings, but if done wrong there is still potential for time consuming work to fix issues.
- Cost - Traditional Coatings are more expensive than Spray Coatings due to their chemical make-up and the amount of active ingredient in the formula. For the consumer, Traditional Coatings will also cost more to have applied due to the longer installation time and level of skill necessary to apply them correctly.
- Gloss & Finish - Traditional Coatings can provide a deeper, more intense gloss & shine that enhances the vehicle's paint. While the Spray Coatings still enhance the gloss of the vehicle, the depth of shine is usually not as pronounced or long-lasting as Traditional Coating.
