What “capacity-to-vehicle math” means for mobile detailers: a full exterior wash uses 10 to 15 gallons per vehicle (more on trucks, less on sedans), which puts a 100-gallon tank at 8 to 10 vehicles per fill for a single-operator route. A 60-gallon tank forces a refill stop after 4 to 6 vehicles, costing you the equivalent of one billable job per day; a 330-gallon tank carries fleet-day volume but is too heavy for most half-ton trucks. Water usage planning
A typical full exterior wash uses 10 to 15 gallons per vehicle. Factors that push you to the upper end: wheel cleaning, engine bay rinsing, two-bucket wash method, or hard-water runoff requiring extended rinse.
- Sedans / small SUVs: ~10-12 gallons per vehicle → 8-10 vehicles per 100-gallon tank
- Full-size trucks / SUVs: ~12-15 gallons per vehicle → 6-8 vehicles per 100-gallon tank
- Adding interior extraction: add 2-4 gallons of additional rinse water

Expect 8 to 10 vehicles per fill for most detailers. A typical wash uses 10 to 15 gallons whether it is a car, truck, SUV, or van, so the exact count comes down to vehicle size and how dirty each one is.

No need to worry about it. The tank is UV stabilized, so water can sit inside for stretches of time without turning into a mold problem.

Not every machine. Most residential pressure washers, and plenty of commercial ones, are force-fed designs that need pressure coming in; with those you must add an in-line pump to move water from the tank into the machine. Tank-fed designs, like our skid-mount commercial pressure washers, draw straight from the tank with no extra pump.

The tank is FDA and NSF approved, so potable water use is allowed. For a dedicated wash-water rig, it's still worth keeping a separate smaller tank for drinking water so detergents and rinse aids never cross-contaminate.

Use standard ratchet straps through the molded tie-down slots on both sides of the tank. Avoid bolting into the tank body, as the molded slots are the only recommended anchor points.
