Cigarette Burn Repair Starter Kit ***1-2 Week Leadtime***

• Description

The “Burn Out” Cigarette Burn Repair Starter Kit is an entry-level velour burn repair system for detailers, mobile detailers, used-car dealers, and auto upholstery shops adding spot-repair work to their service menu. It is built around a 27-color velour palette that matches the majority of OEM cloth seat colors in domestic and import vehicles.

  Highlight specs:

  • 27 velour colors in 0.5 oz jars (covers most OEM cloth seat colors)
  • Water-based velour adhesive for foam-patch bonding
  • Double-sided stiff bristle + hogs hair brush for fiber blending
  • Velour atomizer for controlled flock application
  • Foam sub-patch cutouts to restore burn-depression depth
  • Compact carrying case for mobile use

What “velour color-matching repair” means: a cigarette burn melts a small crater into the fabric and chars a discolored ring around it, an eyesore that drags down a vehicle’s resale value. A proper repair trims the charred fibers, drops in a foam sub-patch to restore level, brushes on water-based adhesive, then atomizes color-matched velour flock in fiber-direction layers and blends it into the surrounding weave with the hogs-hair brush. Done well, it is nearly invisible from 2 feet away and holds up to normal seat use. It is the same process auto upholstery shops use, and the kit puts that toolset in the hands of detailers and dealers reconditioning used, trade-in, rental, and fleet interiors.

At under $5 in materials per repair, it becomes a high-margin add-on service. When you outgrow the starter kit’s 27-color range, the full Cigarette Burn Repair collection adds more adhesives, puffer tools, and supplies. This cigarette repair kit contains 27 various velour colors in .5 oz. jars, water based velour adhesive, double sided stiff bristle and hogs hair brush to evenly apply velour flock, velour atomizer, foam sub patch cut outs, and a nifty compact carrying case.

  Who this is for

  • Detailers adding interior reconditioning as an upsell on used-car prep or fleet cleaning
  • Mobile detailers offering on-site burn repair for rental car returns, trade-ins, or smoker vehicles
  • Auto upholstery shops expanding from full reupholstery into spot-repair services
  • Used car dealers doing in-house reconditioning instead of outsourcing to upholstery shops

Why detailers add burn repair to their service menu

One cigarette burn drops a used car’s perceived value by $200 to $500 in a buyer’s mind. A 20-minute repair with materials that cost under $5 recovers that value for the dealer, rental return, or trade-in. Typical retail service pricing for burn repair is $30 to $50 per burn; multi-burn vehicles often run $200 to $400. At materials cost under $5 per repair, the margin is significant.

For a mobile detailer offering burn repair, a single multi-burn vehicle per week adds $10,000+ in annual service revenue against a one-time kit purchase.

  Repair Process Overview

  1. Clean the burn area thoroughly; any remaining ash or scorch residue will prevent adhesion
  2. Trim the charred fibers flush with the surrounding fabric using small scissors/razor
  3. Insert a foam sub-patch into the burn depression to restore surface level (if necessary)
  4. Apply water-based velour adhesive to the top of the sub-patch
  5. Atomize matching velour color onto the adhesive in thin layers, matching the surrounding fabric weave direction
  6. Blend with the hogs hair brush so the repair edges disappear into the surrounding fabric
  7. Set and cure for 30 to 60 minutes before use

Done well, the repair is nearly invisible from 2 feet away and survives normal seat use indefinitely.
