Restoration Process

Tape off surrounding paint. Sandpaper and compound will dull paint in seconds. Use quality automotive masking tape on all paint edges for protection.
Clean the lens with All Purpose Cleaner to strip road film, bug residue, and wax before sanding. Skipping this step contaminates the sandpaper and shortens its life.
Apply Waterbase Pre-Treatment and let dwell 2-3 minutes to soften the oxidized layer.
Wet-sand through the grit progression with Sand E-Z as the lubricant: 600 to cut oxidation, 1000 to level, 1500 to refine, 2000 and 2500 to prep for polish. Keep the lens wet the entire time.
Polish with the Headlight Cleaner/Polish using an orbital polisher or by hand, working in small sections.
Apply Deep Fill Restorer with a polish pad to fill deeper scratches that couldn’t be removed through sanding (only if necessary).
Seal with the Headlight Shine Restorer, which contains UV inhibitors that bond to the polycarbonate. This step is what separates a multi-year restoration from a 6-month one. You can apply multiple layers for added protection and additional UV resistance, especially if the vehicle is always outside or you live close to the equator with stronger UV rays.
