Black Cherry Car Wash Soap With Wax
-
Black Cherry Car Wash Soap With Wax is an extremely popular and effective car wash shampoo that removes dirt and grime while leaving a glossy finish. It is an environmentally friendly product that smells wonderful, and the wash is safe, easy to use, and offers premier paint protection. Use it for hand washes in between full details or as your prep soap prior to a full detail.
Black Cherry Wash Soap is not compatible with ceramic coatings. If you need a wash that is, use the Detox Wash & Seal For Ceramic Coatings instead.
- Cleans and shines in one pass. Polymers revitalize the brilliance of your paint and leave a glossy finish while the soap lifts dirt, so a routine wash doubles as a light gloss boost.
- Superior lubrication protects your paint. The wash acts as a lubricant between the surface and your wash mitt, so grit slides off instead of grinding in and leaving swirls and scratches.
- Handles every season’s grime. It breaks down and loosens contaminants of all seasons, including dirt, road salt, pollen, and dust.
- A little goes a long way. Each wash uses only a few ounces mixed with water, so this product will go a long way and save money compared to less concentrated options.
- Biodegradable, and it smells amazing. The black cherry scent makes the job more pleasant, and the formula is biodegradable.
What “wash-and-wax car soap” means
A wash-and-wax soap does two jobs in one bucket: it lifts dirt like any car shampoo, and it carries polymers that lay down a thin gloss-boosting film as you rinse. Between those two, the soap also lubricates, so grit glides off the paint instead of grinding in and cutting swirl marks. The trade-off to understand before you buy: the polymer film brightens the finish and helps water sheet off, but it is a maintenance gloss, not a durable protective layer like a paste wax, sealant, or ceramic coating. For a car you wash often, that one-step shine is exactly the point. When the paint needs real protection that lasts weeks, top the wash with a dedicated sealant or wax such as Koch-Chemie Protector Wax. For engine bays, heavy road film, or bug and grime buildup that a wash soap will not cut, step up to an alkaline all-purpose cleaner like Koch-Chemie Green Star.

Formula Type Wash-and-wax car shampoo with polymers Application Dose 2-3 oz per foam cannon or wash bucket (a few ounces per wash) Scent Black cherry Biodegradable Yes Compatibility Safe for all exterior surfaces. Not compatible with ceramic coatings -
- Loosens whatever the season throws at your paint. Dirt, road salt, pollen, and dust break down and release instead of grinding in.
- Slick where it counts. High lubrication keeps the wash mitt gliding over the surface, which is what keeps swirls and scratches out of the finish.
- Wash and wax in one pass. Polymers left behind boost gloss and revive the paint's shine while the soap does the cleaning.
- Cheap per wash. A few ounces mixed into a wash bucket is enough to wash a full-size vehicle.
- Fits both routines. Use it as the weekly maintenance wash or as the clean-slate prep before a full detail.
-
- Dose first: 2-3 oz into a MTM Foam Cannon container or a bucket of clean water. Drop a Grit Guard insert in the bucket so whatever comes off the paint settles at the bottom instead of contaminating the water your mitt keeps returning to.
- Rinse the vehicle before the soap touches it. The best coverage comes from a foam gun: a few ounces inside blankets the entire vehicle in a layer of suds.
- Wash by hand with a Microfiber Chenille Mitt, then rinse the vehicle clean once you are done.
- The no-touch dry wins: a Master Blaster Car Dryer blows water out of every crack and crevice, and it is easily the most fun step of the wash. If you prefer towels, a Gauntlet Drying Towel handles the hand-dry safely.

Use a soap made for automotive paint, not household detergent. A dedicated car wash soap is formulated to lift dirt while staying gentle on the finish, and a wash-and-wax version like Black Cherry adds polymers that leave a glossy shine in one step. It also lubricates the surface so grit slides off without scratching.
-
Yes. A wash-and-wax soap is safe for painted surfaces and cleans exactly like a standard car shampoo, with added polymers that boost gloss as you rinse. The one exception is ceramic-coated paint, which needs a coating-safe wash instead. Black Cherry is not compatible with ceramic coatings.
-
It adds shine and helps water sheet off, but treat it as maintenance gloss, not lasting protection. A wash-and-wax leaves a thin polymer film that brightens the finish for the drive, not a durable layer. For real protection, top the wash with a dedicated sealant, wax, or ceramic coating.
-
Car wash soap is formulated to be gentle on paint and clear coat. Household soaps and dish detergents are built to cut grease, so they strip protective wax and can dull or damage the finish over repeated washes. A car-specific soap cleans safely and, in a wash-and-wax formula, leaves gloss behind.

Rinse the vehicle first, then mix 2-3 oz into a foam cannon or a bucket of clean water. Wash top to bottom with a microfiber wash mitt, working out of a bucket containing a grit guard for best result. Rinse thoroughly, then dry with a blower or drying towel to prevent water spots.
